SUMMER CAMP IN ROMANIA
Riul Alb, 14-21 August 2001
Mrs. Elizabeth KASA and Mr.
Branko KOMADINA, at the official opening of the summer camp |
... and 45 young people from
Romania, Vojvodina and Hungary listening to the presentation of
BANNET project... |
After the presentation of the
project, we wrote on 3 panels: what we expect from this camp, what we
wouldn't like to happen and we put messages with proposals of activities |
...and these
are part of our EXPECTATIONS ... |
| |
...afterwards we started to explore neighborhood ... |
Riul Alb is
a camp situated in Banat
- the western part of Romania (Caras-Severin department), at 15 km from
Resita town and 150 km from Timisoara |
This week we learned about ... |
...
intercultural education ... |
...where
we discussed about our different cultures, social cohesion, exclusion
and inclusion in society, minorities and majorities, stereotypes and
prejudices, life styles, our common BANAT/BANNET culture ...
...we learned three songs from Romania, Hungary and Yugoslavia ...
... we prepared and tasted specific Romanian, Hungarian and Serbian
dishes ... |
... we tried
to work in multicultural groups in spite the language problems ... |
...so
that we were even able to organise a multicultural fashion show as
result of an intercultural and multilingual work ...
... civic
education ... |
... where we
discussed about human and children's rights ... |
that we drew in our different
ways |
and we
exercised while simulating a Human Rights Court. |
We actively participated and
assumed our responsibilities ... |
...while
expressing our opinions on different issues and creating several
newspapers ..... |
| |
... that we
presented to the others ... |
At the end of each day, we had
to think about what happened during the day, about what we learned and
what we liked or not in the so called B GROUPS (Bannet reflection
groups). |
... preparing to go to the B
group ... |
...and the next morning one of
us presented the conclusions ... |
At the end, we evaluated the
week
in a very active way |
Our intercultural experience
was filmed ... |
by a team formed by 2 people
from every country |
Another multicultural team of
reporters, supervised by Marija GAIJCKI and Branko KOMADINA, interviewed
all of us on:
- what is our name and nationallity
- what we understand by interculturality
- what we thing about when we here the word "Banat" |
All I've
learned during this week, as participant to the BANNET summer camp
organised in Romania, my emotions at the beginning, many new things,
activities regarding intercultural and civic education that make me wake
up early in the morning and go to bed with lots of questions turning in
my had, the friends from Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia, so different
but even more interesting persons that will be always glad to welcome me
abroad, the Banat issues, messages from the others, extracts from human
rights, songs and greetings in three languages, (so many) names, maps,
games ....
...
all these I keep in a diary ... |
...where I concluded that this
summer experience was a ... victory! |
